Morbid Woman
04:43
|
|||
It was a sinful night, but such a sinless afternoon
She was razor sharp, but only at the tip of her shoe
She’s a morbid woman with a morbid point of view
She’s a morbid woman, aren’t you?
Her blood froze when she was out cold
Kissed her shoe, and I froze too
And my lifeless hue grows darker and darker cause of you
It was a simple night until the time it came to me
That if die tonight, I know who’d be in line to see
It’s my morbid woman, it don’t bother me
Cause she loves it, morbid, doesn’t she?
Blood footprints in the snow
Lead you to you-know-who
And it’s so fresh in my soul
That look of a black hole
She gives me the best most awful nights
The nights that end in a daze
And while the pain feels fine, it seems to be the smell that stays
On my morbid, woman, I’m not really fazed
Cause she loves it morbid anyway
She’s my morbid woman
Out like a light, she’s got me propped up all night, all night
And on the final night, that I spent with our good friend
She gave me the gut and stitched me back up at both ends

The Legend

Badlands 1934, when it was the murder capital of the north
A stranger with a gun would knock at every door, and if you didn’t
Watch out, you’d be deader than before.
I’ve been lightning, fighting, and I’ve had a little more than my share
He never stood up, and it’s a sad thing, and when you live in the gutter, it’s maddening
Up there the hills are nearly blue
And in the iron mine you think it’s only you
But somewhere I am hiding inches out of view and
When I pull the gun out, you know what to do
Cause I’m hiding in the gorge
Made it there by force
And I was declared gone
But you haven’t seen the horse
I’ve been lightning, riding
On this high-speed trip to nowhere
And when you give up, I know that it’s a bad thing
But when you live in the gutter, it’s maddening!
When you live in the gutter, well the sea’s better than the land
When you live in the gutter, well the badlands don’t seem so bad
If you survive you’re fitter than the ones that fell in the past
But if you play the quitter, then you’re never going to last
When you're, when you’re, when you’re in the badlands it’s a tour de force
To keep yourself alive while others run their course
You’re gonna want to silence all of your remorse
Cause when they bring the guns out
Gotta get ‘em at the source
I’ve been lightning, fighting, spent some time in the captain’s chair
And when you get up, I know that it’s a bad thing
But when you live in the gutter… IT’S MADDENING!!
Badlands in the present day
Where people will drive by but no-one wants to stay
We stay out of view.. cause the legends are true! OK, OK…
I’ve been lightning, fighting
And I’ve had a little more than my share, YEAH!
He never stood up, and it's a sad thing
But when you live in the gutter, it’s maddening!!
I’ve been lightning, fighting

Dig A Hole
04:11
|

I brought you one handful of gold
Alright, that was mine. What’s your big idea?
I brought you the heat served nice and cold
I put it on the line
We’ve got no questions here
What’s your big idea?
I kill the big ones before they happen
I came out here iron-clad before it went bad
What was the big idea?
What was the big idea?
I kill the big ones before they happen
Funny how those who laugh the most don’t have time for laughing
How bout THIS in monochrome?
Go dig a hole that looks like, that looks like home
The walls are black for those with sight
Look up and your walls may turn white
It should come as no surprise your one good eye watches alone
I told you I would sell my soul
Alright, that was mine. What’s your big idea?
I sold you the same story I stole
And I know every line
Let’s make that much clear
What’s your big idea?
I kill the big ones before they happen
Funny how those who laugh the most don’t have time for laughing
How bout THIS in monochrome?
Go dig a hole that looks like, that looks like home
The walls are black for those with sight
Look up and your walls may turn white
It should come as no surprise your one good eye watches alone
Your one good eye watches alone
Your one good eye watches alone
And you just keep on watching
You just keep on watching
I brought you one handful of gold
Alright, that was mine. What’s your big idea?
WHAT’S YOUR -
How bout THIS in monochrome?
Go dig a hole that looks like home
The walls are black for those with sight
Look up and your walls may turn white
The walls are black for those with sight
Look up and your walls may turn white
It should come as no surprise your one good eye watches alone

Mirage

Windows rolled up
My gears are stuck in park
I hope I see the light
Before the sky gets dark
Cause I wanna mean something
It’s about time now, but I wanna mean something, somehow
Last night I saw myself sitting at your table
But I can’t hold my breath any more
Turn the cold on
Volume at the side
Been spinning this tale
The better part of my life, haven't I?
My back windshield tells no lie
I see myself, and all I've left behind
I just wanted to mean something
Put aside what I said, I just wanted to mean something
I still do now, I still do now
Every light that passes overhead
Changes colour every thousand miles
But the last one never came
I’ve got a way of sort of holding up a frame and hoping to see something, anything
Last night I held myself hostage behind the wheel
Wondering what it’s all been for
Sometimes it seems like a never ending drive
Been winding this trail the better part of my life, haven’t I?
I have the same dream about the same road every night
But as it disappears from the corner of my eye
I think maybe it means something
Clenching my fists, and I wish I knew why
Maybe it means something, I wish I knew now, I wish I knew now
Every omen goes over my head
I looked away for just a little while
But the last one never came
I’ve got a way of holding up a frame
And hoping to see something, anything
Last night I saw a mirage in the rearview mirror
I don’t know what I looked back for
Last night I saw myself climbing through the window
Will I ever see the front door?

Got Up Once
04:55
|

Tell me - what will it be? The choice is in your hands
Fight or fly with me
Just don’t freeze up again
But my friend
Let’s say this last word with violence
When we all complete our beatings
I’ll show you how fleeting life is
My death grip is firm and I sense
Your fear, your weaknesses, they lower your defence
Got up once
Too proud to crawl
I know what it’s like to fall
This is what you taught me
In much simpler days
(Cold blooded killer)
I was a cold-blooded killer
Born and raised
Now let’s just say..
Let’s say this last word with violence
I can take and give a beating
I know how fleeting life is
I see it with my sixth sense
Your fear, your weaknesses, they lower your defence
Got up once
Too proud to crawl
I know what it’s like to fall
Got up once
One time alone
I’ll show you what it’s like to fall
Let’s say this last word with violence
I can take and give a beating
I know how fleeting life is
I see it with my sixth sense
Your fear, your weaknesses, they lower your defence
Got up once
Too proud to crawl
I know what it’s like to fall
Got up once
One time alone
I’ll show you what it’s like to fall
Yeah, yeah, yeah!
